Terry Simpkins
PASTOR TERRY SIMPKINS is a native of Huntington, W.Va., and began his pastorate at Greenbrier Valley Nazarene in January 2021, coming from Festus, Missouri, where he had pastored the Nazarene congregation there for 21 years. He has served in a number of other locations as well. Terry is a graduate of Marshall University (Huntington, W.Va.), Nazarene Bible College (Colorado Springs), and Nazarene Theological Seminary (Kansas City). He teaches classes for the West Virginia South Center for Ministry Formation, designed for adult students working toward ordination in the Church of the Nazarene. He and his wife, Becky, have one daughter, MaryBeth Simpkins, who lives in Huntington.
Associate pastor, treasurer, and missions director
Michael Atkinson
MICHAEL ATKINSON serves as our associate pastor, church treasurer, bookkeeper, and director of Greenbrier Valley Nazarene's chapter of Nazarene Missions International, helping keep a close watch on our finances and also keeping us informed of what is going on in missions throughout the world. He also heads up our Compassionate Ministries department, overseeing ministry via our food pantry, crisis care kits, community outreach efforts, our two "adopted" children from Bangladesh, and more. He is a native of Lewisburg and Greenbrier East High School graduate who lived most of his adult life in other locations while in military service--but moved back to his beloved Greenbrier Valley in 2020.
